as a linux n00b, i tend to play with (i.e., mess up) my linux box a lot. in the past i would install a distro (e.g., ubuntu) on my old pc and then type stuffs into the console eventually messing things up to the point of no return. so i would reinstall and start over – a rather time consuming process. with eee pc i can safely experiment with linux and when things go awry, just press f9 key a few times while booting to get to the restore menu:
thanks to the solid-state drive in eee pc which contains a hidden restore partition, it takes less than a minute to get back to the stable factory install.
btw, my current favorite site for eee pc affectionadoes, who like to hack their eees, is eeeuser.com.

Very nice :) btw very good tips i will use them. Some of them i did not knew.
the mighty f9 key saved my bacon, more times than i’d like to admit ;)
